Pre and Post Pregnancy Yoga

A woman has to face three main challenges before she conceives to the birth of a child.

1- The first challenge is that some woman faces some difficulties in conceiving. The following are some of the main reasons for difficulties in conceiving.

  • Overstress- Physical & Mental.
  • Sleeping less.
  • Under or Overweight.
  • Poor lifestyle choice-like: Smoking, drinking, etc…
  • PCOD/PCOS.
  • Lower Progesterone level.
  • Irregular periods.
  • Endometriosis.

Certainly, prenatal yoga will give immense benefits for all the regions mentioned above which causes difficulty in conceiving.

2- The second challenge is to maintain a healthy lifestyle with a healthy pregnancy. There are various physical, mental and hormonal changes in a woman’s body during pregnancy, such as the stress, increase or decrease blood pressure, sugar level, TSH level, Growth hormone level, etc…

Some of the main practices of prenatal yoga asana, pranayama and meditation during pregnancy will prove very useful.

3- The third challenge is the re-normalization of physical, Mental & Hormonal conditions after the birth of a child. If the child is born normally then the woman should start to postnatal yoga practice within 2 to 3 months and if the woman has undergone any surgery at the time of childbirth she should start postnatal yoga practice between 4 to 6 months.
